Sailfish and Bonefish Art on a Pelican Air Travel Case

I was asked to draw onto a travel luggage for the first time.

Ket recently got himself a Pelican Air 1615 Travel Case that will fit all his fishing gear and personal items.

This will be a new challenge for me as I’ve never drawn or painted on this surface.

What Do I Think Of The Case?

I took the opportunity to check out the Pelican case.

You can watch the video of me showing it off and sharing my thoughts.

To The Artwork

The “easy” part was perhaps Ket had asked me to draw something which I’ve drawn before.

But I decided to up the challenge by actually painting the artworks with acrylic paints.

I chose to use Angelus paint and you can see in the video below the whole process.

Here are the steps taken to accomplish this artwork:

  • Apply primer onto cleaned surface
  • Draw outlines of artwork with pencil
  • Apply base colour (optional I feel)
  • Initial base colours must be built up of thin layers
  • Apply actual painting
  • Spray clear coat

Please leave a comment and let me know what you think of it.

Your feedback is very much appreciated.
