The redfish appears to have wised-up and are not that easy to fool anymore, although a couple of fish still fell for the flies.
Meanwhile, at the new catch and release only pond which charges RM20 for each of the first two hours and RM10 for subsequent hours, the bite is hot.
Update 2016: the charges are now basically RM50 for a 3-hour session and RM10 for subsequent hours.
There are mangrove jacks and redfish in one pond – giant trevally, golden snappers and groupers in the other. If you know what you are doing here, you quickly figure out a pattern and start getting regular hits.
Update 2016: Currently there are 4 ponds for sport fishing (catch & release). Although you can buy your catch at market price if you wish.
The rightmost pond is stocked with redfish and GT.
The next pond from right – groupers
Third and fourth pond from right – barramundi

Can I know what time they open during the weekend?
Their business hours are from 7am-2am
Nice, do they provide fishing rod?
No they do not. You’ll have to bring your own gear.
Thanks for the reply. Do you have any idea which fishing pond have provide fishing gear?
I can’t think of any that does, Edward. – JW
Great read and great pictures :) was wondering if you get to keep your catch for free or do you have to buy the fish later on? Are you allowed to catch and release? Cheers
Thanks, Nashty. They have 3 ponds each for catch and release only, and catch and buy.
is there fishing rod for rental?
Sorry about the late response, Molly. Have been off the grid fishing in Mongolia. There is no fishing gear rental at this pond.
