Western Indian Ocean, Eastern Indian Ocean & Western Central Pacific, Eastwards to Malaysia, Thailand, Phillipines, Southern Japan and Australia.
Biology & fishery
Inhabits coral reefs. A carnivorous fish that feeds on fishes and bottom living crustaceans.
Common size caught 30cm but can attain 50cm in length.
A commercial and expensive fish which is sold fresh in the market.
