Double Hook-Up at Kuala Rompin

Double hookups or double header as some would call it, is not that uncommon in Kuala Rompin.

Double hookups do happen quite often especially when there are many school of baits around. In fact, if we set out three rods, it will result in triple hookups.

Incredible as it may sound, we sometimes set out only one rod with bait just to manage the bites.

Having two anglers onto fish at the same time surely is exciting although crossed lines rubbing onto each other may result in a lost fish or two. It can be fun, it can be chaotic. It’s like a tango dance when you have experienced anglers behind the rod and line.

In this instance, we have Jamie who flew in from Hong Kong for some sailfish fishing with his buddy Michael all the way from Melbourne.

I have seen anglers take anything from 10 minutes to 45 minutes to bring in a sailfish. The average fight-time is 15 minutes.

That marlin-should-be-sailfish statue again. Some say, it will grant you a good catch if you rub it. Haha.
