A pick-up and lay-down distance casting competition was held during the International Fly Fishing Festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Competitors have three chances to pick-up the line and make a single cast. The first cast starting with one rod length of overhang line.
In this video we see Yusaku Tsutsui, owner of Drag Free Fly Fishing Shop located in Osaka Japan, having a go at it. Casting Instructors may participate for fun but does not qualify for the prize at stake which is an Abel reel sponsored by Tacklebox Adventures. Yusaku is a FFF MCI.
