Sevylor Fish Hunter Inflatable Fishing Boat

sevylor fish hunter inflatable boat

Fully loaded and ready to be launched. It’s not as cramped as it look in the photograph as we have not arranged the equipment yet. But it does only sits 2-adult anglers comfortably.

For getting to those hard-to-fish places!
Every angler worth his sweat would understand how it is like. Either you go to your favorite fishing hole or discover a new location there will always be those not quite accessible places. The corner where all the splashes are, that spot you located through satellite images and that weeds edge that is just out of your casting range. Shore based fishing can sometime suck. And that is where a boat may determine the difference between a fish-less or a bountiful day. Or a day out hooking-up small fishes or that fish of a lifetime.

Sevylor Fish Hunter Inflatable Fishing Boat. Built with all the features a fisherman needs: superior quality 2-chamber 30-gauge PVC hull; multichambered floor with twin tunnel chambers for extra stability while fighting fish and better tracking through rough water; rod holders; easy-inflating Boston valves on the main chambers; gear pouch.

Specification at a glance:
• Extra large, designed for fishermen (I know Ed is…but are all fishermen large?)
• Accepts a 2.5 HP gas motor at the stern (not included)
• 2 rod holders
• 1 gear bag
• 1 battery pouch
• plenty of tie downs and grablines
• 4 drain plugs
• Repair kit included
• Swivel oarlocks
• Chafing pads
• 2 inflatable seats.
• Maximum capacity is 1200 lbs.

Maximum 3hp motor. Needs motor mount for gas powered outboard.

Stealthy way to fish but truster motor will help.

Our Verdict:
• It is tough
• Easy to maneuver
• Gets very hot under the sun
• Very stable.

Inflating and deflating the Sevylor Fish Hunter
Takes us about 15-20 minutes to fully inflate using a Sevylor foot pump and about the same amount of time to deflate and pack up. We opted for the foot pump as we figure we could use the additional workout! There are 4 valves that you’ll need to inflate. They are number coded to indicated the sequence.

As for deflating, all you’ll have to do is pop open the valves, sit on the sides and let the air out.

  1. Awesome boat… Now, we are really gonna get those mother of …4-5kg snakeheads lurking beyond reach. It’s a pity that it cant hold 4 if not it would be jolly fun….

Nevertheless, the maximum capicity is 1200lbs whereby myself..210lbs, alan 155lbs, chin 165 lbs and yap 180lbs and the combined total of 710lbs …very accomodating if we squeeze.

  2. the boss,
I think you are doing too much saltwater fishing. For an inflatable it’s best for 1 or max 2 persons if fishing. Anymore than that better to buy another.

    Rashidi,
Where are you from by the way? UFL the distributor for Coleman is currently offering 50% OFF this inflatable you see here.

Hi Lim, thank you for leaving a comment.

There are some answers below this comment that you may find useful.

  4. Hello Ajim,

You may be referring to the motor mount? It is not too difficult to DIY if you have some time.

You may try calling UFL or Corezone. I hope they can help.

Sevylor is now a Coleman product and UFL is the Coleman distributor in Malaysia.

    Good luck.

  5. hai bro jw and the rest,

Thank you for the info..Really appreciate it..
“Motor Mount”, this is what i’m looking for..

  6. Hello Boss. I did not know you were so fat. I am not going in the boat with you just in case I have to row. Makan minyak.

  7. @Escargo

Refer to my earlier comment just above. Click on the links or call them with the number stated. Where are you located btw?

  8. I am more of a canoe kinda guy..having used and own 2 canoes, just a little more tipsy but not for me. Probably used to it.

My friend had one …it got punctured very fast. maybe he tried to go where he wasn’t suppose to. It gets freaking hot as the material heats up when under the sun. :-P

Nevertheless, it brings you where the fish are and away from the crowds.

    1. Canoes and inflatables each have their own advantages. Anglers should try out both if possible and decide from there.

The best thing about the canoe over the inflatable must be it is much quicker to deploy and pack up, unless of course if it is also an inflatable type :)

The Sevylor have so far taken some scrapings without any damage so far. Touch wood.

Another interesting craft to have is the Outcast tube.

  9. Thanks for leaving a comment Joey.

Where are you from? The Sevylor’s RRP is about usd300. I got it for half that during a promo.

  10. Joey, there are links to some local Sevylor retailers in some of the earlier comments above. You may check the current retail prices there. Hope that helps.

    1. It weighs 48 pounds or 21.7kg. I feel the Sevylor is more suited for calm waters like lakes but do not see why it cannot be used in a slow river. Definitely not for white water kind of boating!

  12. Hi SFA,

I know this post is a little old but I know that the team/admin is still very active and responsive to the comments.

So before I do part my money, can u guys give me some info about how the boat is holding up?
    Is it still working?
