Fly fishing for sailfish is often very challenging, and then we have this instance where we’re just starting the day with nothing in the water and a stationary boat.
I was helping setup the rod, casted the fly out and was stripping line back into the basket when this fish came out of nowhere and ate the fly!
Another one of those fishing moments that just catches you by surprise. Thank goodness Tuz went on to land five more sailfish on the fly that day! What a relief it was for me and the crew and possibly one of the best day sailfishing in Kuala Rompin Malaysia.
