Little tackle, Big fish. Sailfish on light spin tackle [video]

I have an overwhelming amount of fishing video footages in my hard drive and they are accumulating faster than I can put together these short films for you, the readers of Sport Fishin’ Asia.

Either I stop shooting, or I start cranking and editing them faster which would entail sitting in front of the computer and not go fishing. Crazy!

Anyway, here’s one out of the way. This was shot a couple of months back. Steven was doing light jigging for snappers when a sailfish took a liking to his shiny jig and literally took off!

Why is it when we put a jig onto proper tackle and go for them sails and they don’t bite?

How will the fight end?

Watch the video and you can see why Rompin is renowned for its calm waters and hot multi-hook-up action.

  1. It is amazing to see how Xzogas work
unbelievable how thin they are and strong though
Last year I was able to test one…this year I bought one ;-)

    1. I got it used in a forum.
I was looking a long time for that rod.
it is a handbuild one, based on a 4kg blank
      blank is only available!
perfect for the CW I use
      and perfect for pikefishing

hard to say where you can get one
      forums are a hot tip
don´t know if you have any shops in your area where you can buy Xzogas
in Austria it is hard to get one
I only know one shop in Europe where you can order rods and blanks

if you have the oportunity to get one…don´t think about it
      GRAB IT!

      1. That’s awesome testimonial, Chris.

Fortunately for us, they are easily available here! The 2 skippers you see in the video (one on another boat) are actually sponsored by Xzoga. If you need help getting them, just let me know.
