Giant Flesh-Eating Leech of Borneo

Leeches are nasty. I hate these suckers and they’ve left quite a few marks on my legs. And the itch they cause, I don’t know which is worse between leeches and sand flies.

Imagine a 50cm (20 inch) long leech, eating an equally impressive 70cm (27 inch) long earthworm.

The local tribes of Mount Kinabalu, Sabah where the leech was filmed sucking the earthworm down like spaghetti, simply calls it the “Giant red leech” – and it is believed the leech grow bigger than 50cm.
