To Malaysian fly fishers, Peter no stranger, this will be his fourth visit to the country. He came to Malaysia for the first time in 2010 to give a casting workshop in Kuala Lumpur. This resulted in the highly successful first IFFF test event in Kuala Lumpur in 2011 and another visit during the Fly Fishing Festival in KL in 2012.
Peter is the owner and head guide at the Peter Hayes Fly Fishing Lodge in Cressy, Tasmania, Australia. He is the first Australian to be certified as Master Casting Instructor by the IFFF.
In 2012 Peter was elected as IFFF Casting Board of Governor. He is also seated in the IFFF International Committee representing Asia Pacific region.
In his younger days Peter competed in fly fishing and fly casting tournaments both locally and representing Australia at international tournaments. His record speaks for itself, he is a Bronze medalist at the World Fly Fishing Championship in 2000, Silver medalist in the World Fly Casting Championship in 1981 and 1983, winner in 1998 Australian Fly Fishing Championship and 10 times Australian Fly Casting Competition Champion of Champion.
Peter is a true educator, passionate teacher and very generous and never hold back when he is sharing all of his knowledge. His teaching style is fun and very entertaining. Must not miss his workshop and demonstration.
