Pure Fishing Malaysia holds regular clinics and competitions for fishing enthusiasts both seasoned and new alike. Naturally they promote their products but at the same time is doing a good thing to promote this great sport.

I recently dropped by at one of their clinic held at Fish Valley, Semenyih. It is a bit far for most anglers but which good fishing hole doesn’t take some traveling to get to?
Fish Valley has many fishing ponds in a nice setting. Among the fishes that anglers can put their fishing tackle to the test here are the Giant Mekong Catfish, various big carps, Pacu, African catfishes and lots more in the mix of the regular fishes. A couple of Arapaima was also introduced into one of the ponds recently.

Plagued by bird nest problems? Been put-off by the mysteries surrounding baitcasting? Worry no more. Pure Fishing Malaysia is organising a baitcasting clinic. If you are keen to learn baitcasting, or you are new to baitcasting and wants to pick-up a few pointers, or just curious to find out what the fuss is all about, this is a great occasion to do it.
The fee is only RM10 which includes a Berkley Casting Plug, food, and a great time meeting fellow anglers.
Pre-registration is not necessary. Just show-up on that day with ten bucks in the pocket! Fish Valley is a nice place to fish so bring along your own fishing tackle should that urge to tackle some big fish suddenly gets under your skin.
The guys from Pure Fishing will often mix-in other activities on that day where mystery prizes are up for grabs!

Haruan fish or Striped Snakehead (Channa Striata)
This is the first of our Haruan 101 series. This will hopefully be a useful fishing reference guide to you for this ubiquitous snakehead fish.
Like a opportunistic mugger hidden from view awaiting it’s next unsuspecting victim to stroll by, the haruan often lies in very shallow waters usually in-between snags and aquatic vegetation at the edges of ponds.

I have personally spooked many haruan while approaching a swim. So many times that I have lost count of it. It happened again yesterday.
