Distribution: Indo-West Pacific


Among the smallest of sharks, it grows to a maximum size of 60 cm.

Juveniles display bands and occasionlly spots along their body.

Adult Bamboo Shark are often plain gray or brownish in color. Easily caught bottom fishing inshore (juvenile), and larger adults in off-shore water of 10 to 100 meters depth.
