The trill of catching fish is obviously what makes us go fishing. But there are other aspects that I enjoy during this pursuit of man vs wild. Like the camaraderie of like minded chums, the travels, the food, the sights, the hilarious happenings… and the list goes on and on. It is the memories that we bring home with us.
Then there are also the discoveries we make. If we are serious true-blue anglers, then we naturally appreciate the outdoors.
A good friend, Poh, somehow managed to spot this egg on the ground during a short fishing outing.
Strangely, it was laid… err, lying… out in the open on rocky ground. Isn’t that risky. Maybe the mother couldn’t get to the nest on time? You know. Like, when you gotta go, you’ve gotta go?
Measuring about 40mm it looks like a bird’s egg but we can’t be sure.
It has some interesting markings. Camouflage like.
Did I also mention the egg was spotted after we’ve just packed up to leave? This egg fittingly tells that it was not an eggciting day to be – as we did not catch anything that afternoon. Sigh…
